  1. Hi Sam

As a freediver and scuba diver, I've seen a lot of photos of seals - and these are really different. It is particularly rare to see such good close up shots of the seals on the surface. I also really like the subtle references to man's impact - the foam on the water (pollution?), the water bottle.... normally things you'd remove to take the photo, but making their point quietly.

The image of the seal exhaling is also important - we talk to our freedive students about how seals exhale before they dive - and no one ever believes us. It's good to have some evidence. Well done and I hope you won't stop visiting the seals just because the project is winding up.

  2. Yep good work Sam,

photo-document type story works well, as said above.......
I would say keep at this project as well, and you will see the work improve further. With more time, chance encounters & your relationship (trust built up & understanding of behaviours etc.) with the seals should blossom nicely.

I'm not sure if its any help, but the guy at the end of this episode on BBC might be worth talking to... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ss1tp

Keep up the good work, it has my seal of approval ;-)
